Alaskan
Cruise
Tour
#5
August
31 - September 7, 2010
One
of the largest ships to sail Alaska is Carnival’s “SPIRIT.” See glaciers
six miles wide, snow capped mountains, bears, eagles and whales. Your
ship is like a floating hotel with a ten-story atrium and glass elevators.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a pizzeria and ice cream parlor are
included at no additional cost. Separate tables will be reserved for
our group of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the dining room. Each day will be
filled with activities, gourmet dining and musical entertainment. A
travel talk will be given on the glaciers and on the ports including
the optional tours. The covered indoor pool allows you to swim no matter
what the weather is outside. (We have reserved special group rates;
however our allotment of cabins is sold out each year, so reserve early.)
You can make your own airline reservations to and from Seattle, Washington
or call our office for the cruise line airfare including roundtrip transportation
to the ship. Just the food and entertainment alone are worth the price
of this one-week cruise!
Aug
31 You
can fly or drive from your home town to SEATTLE, Washington. Boarding
begins at noon including lunch. At 4:00 p.m. your ship begins its journey
for fabulous views of glaciers, mountains, waterfalls and wildlife.
Tonight there will be separate dining room tables just for our group
of Jehovah’s Witnesses so you can get acquainted with friends from various
other parts of the country.
Sept. 1 Today
will be a “Fun Day at Sea” with a variety of activities and to enjoy
the enclosed swimming pool. You will soon see how nature has truly outdone
itself in Alaska as you travel along the Inside Passage which is a dramatic
coastal spectacle. This is the area noted for humpback whales, eagles
and numerous sea lions. Tonight is a formal evening as everyone is invited
to the Captain’s Cocktail Reception and Dinner followed by a Broadway
musical show.
Sept. 2 Today
you will experience a spectacular sight as you enter the 22 mile long
Tracy Arm Fjord that’s made up of two separate fjords and mostly covered
in ice. Until you’ve heard the roar of ice crashing into the sea, it’s
safe to say you’ve never experienced anything like it. Watch for bears
feeding on the shoreline. This thrilling cruise itinerary is rated #1
in Alaska!
Sept. 3 Entire day is
spent in SKAGWAY, Alaska, an old gold rush town where the streets will
draw you back over 100 years. Today, wooden sidewalks, old-fashioned
saloons, gift shops and horse-drawn carriages are reminders of the Alaskan
Gold Rush days. Take a ride in an antique taxi or a historic train ride
on the Yukon Railroad.
Sept.

Today, it’s JUNEAU, the capital of Alaska. The only way for anyone to
get to Juneau is by water or air. This is where the famous “Mendenhall”
glacier is located that is over a mile wide and six miles long. You
can walk up to the glacier or you can even take a helicopter ride where
you can land and a park ranger takes you for an unbelievable walk on
top of the glacier. Another option is taking an exciting dog sled ride.
Since there are no roads, all vehicles must arrive by boat or airplane.
Enjoy the museums and shopping for Alaska’s famous handmade ivory and
jade items.
Sept. 5 This morning you
will arrive in KETCHIKAN, Alaska, known as the “Salmon Capital of the
World,” a town that’s built on a steep hillside. This is where you will
find the largest collection of carved totem poles plus there are museums,
shops and cultural centers featuring Alaska’s native dance and artifacts.
You can also take a tram ride for a view of the city below.Tonight is
another formal evening and the chefs have prepared a surprise dinner.
Sept. 6 Late this afternoon
you will dock in the beautiful port of VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA in
Canada. Here you will have time to tour the city and to visit the world
famous Butchart Gardens. After midnight, your ship will return to Seattle.
Alaska is now one of the most desired destinations.
