Come
and experience the beauty of Costa Rica on this 10 day tour in Central
America. The country is known for its natural wonders featuring rainforests,
hot thermal springs, beautiful national parks and the Arenal Volcano.
This tour is operated by a Brother and Sister who live in Costa Rica
and will be your tour guides. They will also inform you about our ministry
being done in their country. Each day, breakfast and dinner are included
in addition to all of the tours.
THE ITINERARY WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
Nov. 22 Everyone will
fly from their departure city to San Jose where they will be met and
transferred to the hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure. Tonight
there will be a “Welcome” dinner to meet other friends traveling with
you on this tour.
Nov. 23 Following breakfast,
you will visit the Arenal Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes
in the world. After arriving at your hotel where you will stay for two
nights, you will have time to relax and enjoy the swimming pool with
views of this majestic giant and the surrounding area.
Nov. 24 Today, you will
travel to a border town very near to Nicaragua. This will be a day to
remember as you board a safari boat for a two hour trip on the Cano
Negro River. Later, you’ll return to your lodge to soak in the soothing,
natural hot springs, an experience everyone will enjoy. At dinner, you
will have magnificent views of the Arenal volcano lighting up with its
red hot lava running down the side that looks like fireworks every night!
Nov. 25 Travel into the
Monteverde cloud forest reserve filled with flora and fauna. It’s one
of the most interesting places to visit. Your guide will take you on
nature trails in search of birds and mammals and to discuss the amazing
diversity of plants. (See Awake 10/8/04, p. 16) This will be your home
for two nights.
Nov. 26 On this morning’s
nature walk, you will discover the natural beauty of the cloud forest,
home to the world’s largest population of birds including the endangered
“Quetzal.” Later, visit a coffee plantation to see how beans are made
into your morning cup of coffee.
Nov. 27 The next three
nights will be spent in the Manuel Antonio National Park that’s known
for its white sand beaches and beautiful rainforests. This is also the
home for sloths, iguanas, the adorable squirrel monkeys and other wildlife.
Nov. 28 There’s never
a dull moment in the park. The day will be free to swim, relax and observe
up close hundreds of white-faced capuchin monkeys. You’ll enjoy watching
their antics as they climb, dance and swing from tree to tree.
Nov. 29 Enjoy a free day
with a variety of optional tours. There is snorkeling, kayaking, river
rafting, catamaran cruises, ATV tours, biking and horseback riding as
this is one of the country’s most scenic and beautiful national parks.
Nov. 30 Travel to Alajuela
where you can do some shopping or just relax at the hotel. Tonight,
there is a special “Farewell Dinner” at the hotel.
Dec. 1 Everyone will be
transferred to the airport for the return flight home. |
