In
the summer of 2010, Norwegian Cruise Lines will begin sailing the largest
cruise ship that has ever been built. It is called the Norwegian "EPIC"
and can accommodate 4,200 guests. This one week cruise will sail from
Miami to the popular islands of ST. MAARTEN, ST. THOMAS and NASSAU in
the BAHAMAS. Besides its modern design, world-class restaurants, it
has the first ever water Aqua Park. The most unusual feature is the
EPIC "plunge," a slide that uses inner tubes as passengers zip down
a 200 foot slide into a large bowl were centrifugal forces will spin
them around before they splash down at the bottom of the slide. There's
also a large sun deck to soak up the sun's rays. Believe it or not,
the ship has six bowling lanes, a climbing wall, batting cage, basketball
court and trampoline.
When it comes time to eat, there are 20 different restaurants
for dining plus 18 bars and lounges. You can eat and dine at the time
you prefer in the restaurant of your choice. One of the fun type dining
experiences is the Japanese restaurant, where chefs prepare the food
right inform of you on hibachi grills. The meal consists of meat, fish
and vegetables while chefs entertain you with their knife acrobatics.
There is also a sushi bar. In the Shanghai’s Chinese restaurant,
you can taste dishes prepared in a noodle bar setting including dim
sum. Then there is Cagney’s Steakhouse featuring great steaks
and seafood presented on s skewer by waiters. For French food, don’t
miss the Le Bistro Restaurant. If you prefer Italian food, try La Cucina
with pizzas, pastas and other Italian specialties.
On one evening , enjoy the one of a kind “Cirque Dreams and Dinner”
show featuring amazing acrobatic acts while enjoying dinner. If you
get hungry anytime during the day of night, you can eat in O’Sheehan’s
Bar and Grill that’s open 24 hours serving big juicy burgers and
is where the bowling alleys, dart boards and pool tables are located.
Enjoy the ocean air along with a great view of the Aqua park as you
dine on dishes from around the world at The Great Outdoors Restaurant
or at the pool grill. Visit the Garden Café, an English garden
conservatory serving three meal’s per day. In the Manhattan Dining
Room you’ll feel like you’re in a private New Your City
supper club that has a dance floor and ocean views from the two story
floor to coiling windows. As on all cruises, breakfast, lunch and dinner
is included daily. Just imagine, no food to buy for a week!
There is still another first ever, the EPIC cruise ship will have the
only true Ice Bar at sea as there are only 14 in the world. You’ll
enter a frozen bar where all the walls, tables and stools are made of
ice. Upon entering the room, you’ll be given a cozy fur coat and
gloves to keep you warm in the chilly temperature of 17 degrees as you
can only be in the room for 10 minutes. And that’s not all, another
first will be the world renowned Blue Man Group known for their popular
theatrical shows and concerts that combine music, comedy and multimedia
theatrics.
Located at the back of the ship is a huge move screen above the swimming
pool. Throughout the day you will see pictures from around the world
including synchronized swimmers with music. This is where you can enjoy
a perfect sunset while watching and listening to Spanish guitars, singers
and dancers on the big screen. From state-of-the-art design to work-class
restaurants and entertainment, you’ll never find a dull moment
while cruising in the Caribbean in ideal warm weather.
As you can see all the ships amenities and activities will keep you
busy including life Broadway musicals and other entertainment. Imagine,
