Cruise
Tour
#15
December
6-13, 2008
April
18-25, 2009
One
of the most traveled to destinations in the world is Hawaii, and one
of the easiest ways to see all of the islands is by cruising to them.
On this relaxing cruise, you can fly from any major city to Honolulu
to board Norwegian Cruise Lines “PRIDE OF AMERICA” cruise
ship. You will sail from OAHU to the islands of MAUI, KAUAI and the
Big Island of HAWAII on your choice of dates. Traveling is one of life’s
great pleasures and on this cruise you only have to unpack once. On
the first day, you will fly from your hometown to Honolulu where you
will be transferred to the cruise ship. Here you will meet friends from
other parts of the country and be given information on what to see and
do as you cruise from island to island in paradise. Best of all, the
weather will be ideal.
This exciting ship is known for its freestyle dining featuring 12 different
dining options plus nine bars and lounges, two swimming pools and a
fitness center. Prepare yourself for a different dining experience each
evening. Imagine, no food to buy for a week! A great way to see Hawaii
at the lowest possible cost as each island is totally different. See
some of the most exotic landscapes on earth including waterfalls, fiery
volcanoes, lush fern forests, immense canyons and coastal cliffs. There
will be everything from hula lessons to flower lei making, with musicals
and Broadway shows in the evenings. Your cruise director will give a
lecture on the islands, plus information on optional sightseeing tours,
shopping, and the best beaches. Only resort casual dress is necessary
for the entire cruise as no suits, sportcoats or ties are ever worn.
Upon boarding the ship you will sense the spirit of Aloha, along with
the scent of Hawaii’s beautiful flowers and Hawaiian music. This
is the best way to see Hawaii as each island is entirely different!
HAWAIIAN ISLANDS PORTS-OF-CALL
OAHU...is the island where
you will board your cruise ship in Honolulu. Nearby is Waikiki Beach
and the famous landmark, Diamond Head that is now an extinct volcano.
You’ve heard a lot about Hawaii’s climate, and it’s
all true, as the temperature is in the low 80’s year round. So
come along and enjoy the colorful flowers and the warm weather of the
Hawaiian Islands.
KAUAI...the “Garden
Isle” known for its natural beauty, waterfalls, spectacular cliffs,
and Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. This is one of the
most loved islands, that was used for such movies as Blue Hawaii, South
Pacific and Jurassic Park. One of the highlights will be cruising by
the incredible Na Pali Cliffs, that can only be seen from the ship.
HAWAII...known as the
“Big Island.” You’ll visit both Hilo and Kona so you
can tour the Volcanoes National Park to see lava flows and steam rising
from volcanic craters. For a real experience, take a helicopter ride
over one of the most active volcanoes in the world that continues to
erupt and flow into the ocean. Thousands of orchids and anthuriums grow
in the volcanic soil. You’ll see unusual black sand beaches formed
from the volcanic ash, along with coffee and macadamia nut plantations.
(See Awake, 5/22/98, p.24) As your ship circles the island, you will
see Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, the two largest mountains on earth. Tonight,
the chefs have a surprise dinner.
MAUI...the Valley Isle
is where you will spend two days. There is everything from beautiful
sandy beaches to the islands natural wonder called Haleakala Crater.
You will love shopping in the little town of Lahaina, once a whaling
village and now known for its Hawaiian art galleries and many other
great shops. This is also the time of the year that thousands of whales
are seen finding their way to the warm waters in Hawaii.
