One
of the most traveled to destinations in the world is Hawaii and one
of the easiest ways to see all of the islands is by cruising to them
as it gives you an opportunity to explore and discover the beauty of
the most famous islands in the world. You’ll be able to visit the many
historical, cultural and scenic sites plus the world class beaches famous
for their waves. On the first day you can fly from your hometown to
Honolulu where you will be transferred to Norwegian Cruise Lines “PRIDE
OF AMERICA” cruise ship. At 7:00 p.m. the ship will sail from Honolulu
on the island of OAHU to the islands of MAUI, KAUAI and the Big Island
of HAWAII. On board you will meet other Jehovah’s Witnesses from various
parts of the country and given information on all the things to see
and do as you cruise from island to island in paradise. Most enjoyable
are watching the beautiful Hawaiian sunrises and sunsets and taking
in the refreshing ocean breezes. Best of all, the weather will be ideal
on this most popular cruise.
This exciting ship is known for its freestyle dining with 12 different
dining options plus nine bars and lounges, two swimming pools and a
fitness center. Prepare yourself for a different dining experience each
evening with tropical drinks and delicious island specialties. Imagine,
no food to buy for a week! A great way to see Hawaii at the lowest possible
cost as each island is totally different. See some of the most exotic
landscapes, waterfalls, lava flows, fiery volcanoes, lush fern forests,
immense canyons and coastal cliffs. There will be everything from hula
lessons to flower lei making, including musicals and Broadway shows
in the evenings. Your cruise director will give a lecture on the islands,
plus information on optional sightseeing tours, shopping and the best
beaches to visit. Only resort casual dress is necessary for the cruise
as no suits or ties are ever worn. Upon boarding the ship you will sense
the spirit of Aloha, along with the scent of Hawaii’s beautiful flowers
and Hawaiian music everywhere. This is the best way to see Hawaii and
still be able to relax and do as you please.
THE ITINERARY WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
HAWAIIAN ISLANDS PORTS-OF-CALL OAHU...is
the island where you will board your cruise ship in Honolulu. Nearby
is Waikiki Beach and the famous landmark, Diamond Head that is now an
extinct volcano. You’ve heard a lot about Hawaii’s climate, and it’s
all true, as the temperature is in the low 80’s year round. So come
along and enjoy the colorful flowers and the warm weather of the Hawaiian
Islands that’s filled with natural beauty, lush vegetation, fascinating
culture, rich history and endless activities.
MAUI...the Valley Isle
is where you will spend two fascinating days as this island has been
voted as the #1 island in the world! You can go whale watching, ziplining
or take a tour to the 10,000 foot high Mt. Haleakala Crater, the largest
dormant volcano in the world that stretches seven miles across and a
mile deep. This is where, at any age, you can take a 28-mile all downhill
biking tour. You’ll love shopping in the little town of Lahaina, once
a whaling village and now known for its shops and Hawaiian art galleries.
On one evening you may want to attend a luau with Hawaiian foods with
music and dances of all the Islands in the Pacific.
HAWAII...known as the
“Big Island.” You’ll visit both Hilo and Kona so you can tour the Volcanoes
National Park to see lava flows and steam rising from volcanic craters.
For a real experience, take a walking tour to see the lava flows or
a helicopter ride over the most active volcano in the world that continues
to erupt and flow into the ocean. Thousands of orchids and anthuruims
grow in the volcanic soil. See unusually black sand beaches formed from
the volcanic ash, along with Kona coffee and macadamia nut plantations.
(See Awake, 5/22/98, p. 24) As your ship circles the island, you will
see Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea, the two largest mountains. Tonight, the
chefs have prepared a surprise dinner.
KAUAI...the “Garden Isle”
known for its natural beauty, waterfalls, spectacular cliffs, sandy
beaches and Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. This is
one of the oldest and most loved islands, that was used for such movies
as Blue Hawaii, South Pacific and Jurassic Park. You can take a short
cruise on the Wailua River and a nature walk through the rainforest
to the lush Fern Grotto where you will be entertained by hula dancers
with songs and legends of the island. Amazing palm trees and orchids
are everywhere. Your ship will remain overnight so you can enjoy all
the things the island has to offer. One of the highlights on the last
day will be cruising by the incredible Na Pali Cliffs that can only
be seen from the ship as this is one of the most beautiful sights on
the cruise and in all of Hawaii. |
