This
exciting cruise departs from Barcelona, Spain on Norwegian Cruise Lines
“JADE.” Enjoy fine weather on one of the largest ships sailing in the
Mediterranean Sea to the five most popular ports in Europe. Each port
will have a variety of optional tours to MONTE CARLO, NICE, FLORENCE,
PISA, ROME, ISLE OF CAPRI, THE AMALFI COAST and PALMA MAJORCA.You can
visit the ruins of Pompeii, tour the famous Amalfi coast or admire some
of the Renaissance masterpieces in one of the great museums.
Each
of these cities had at least 3,000 years to prepare for your visit so
you won’t be disappointed. Best of all, we have been able to obtain
special group rates for our group of Jehovah’s Witnesses. This cruise
ship is known for its beautiful décor plus there are two swimming pools,
six hot tubs, a spa and fitness center. It is also known for its freestyle
dining featuring 13 different dining options plus nine bars and lounges.
As on all cruise ships, breakfast, lunch, dinner and a midnight buffet
are included daily, so prepare yourself for a different dining experience
each evening. Imagine no food to buy for a week! This is a great way
to see Europe at the lowest possible cost as each country is totally
different. Casual dress is fine for each day or you can dress up for
one of the formal evenings. There are shops on board and in the evening
you’ll enjoy Broadway musical shows and other entertainment.

Arrive in BARCELONA and transfer to the elegant cruise ship. Lunch will
be served on board before departing at 5:00 p.m.

Be on deck this morning to enjoy the scenic French Riviera as you enter
the harbor in MONTE CARLO and CANNES, FRANCE. Here you can visit the
exclusive areas of Monte Carlo and Nice including hilltop villages,
museums, Monaco’s Royal Palace and shop on the famous streets along
the seaside.

This morning you’ll arrive in LIVORNO, ITALY. Here you can tour the
exciting city of Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance and one of
the most beautiful cities in Italy. You’ll marvel at the Florentine
treasures and museums that feature artists like Botticelli and Donatello.
Florence is famous for its bargains on leather goods and jewelry in
the outdoor market. You can also tour Tuscany to see the famous “Leaning
Tower of Pisa.”

Another day that you will remember as you dock at the port of Civitavecchia
where you will have the entire day free to visit ROME, known as the
“Eternal City” and World Empire of Bible history. On the sightseeing
tour you’ll learn the history of Rome as you view the Roman Forum and
stand under the imposing Arch of Titus. See the magnificent Colosseum,
site of gladiator fights and the Circus Maximus where “Ben Hur” chariot
races were once held. The tour includes visiting St. Peter’s Square
and Basilica, the largest church in Christendom. (See Awake, 4/8/91,
p. 24) Be sure to visit the Spanish steps and the famous Trevi Fountain
that’s been featured in many movies.

From Rome, you will sail to NAPLES, ITALY. where you can take a sightseeing
tour along the cliffs on the famous Amalfi Coast to the towns of Positano
and Sorrento. This is one of the most beautiful drives in the world
that you will not forget! If you prefer, you can visit Pompeii where
ancient Romans lived and is where over 20,000 lives were lost under
the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. You can still see many of the
ancient buildings and streets where people were buried alive as this
is one of the most awesome experiences in Italy. Another option is to
take a ferry boat ride to the beautiful Isle of Capri for a tour of
the island and the famed Blue Grotto located in an underground cave.

Enjoy a “Fun Day at Sea” to browse through the ship’s shops and enjoy
the warm weather around the swimming pools. During the day you can eat
at the restaurant of your choice. There will be activities all day or
just relax and do as you please. Each night there is entertainment and
spectacular Broadway shows.

Your final port will be PALMA MAJORCA, a lovely Spanish island in the
Mediterranean Sea. You’ll have the full day to enjoy walking around
the beautiful old town as this is where many Europeans come to enjoy
the warm weather.

will arrive back in Barcelona. Following breakfast, you can depart to
the airport for the return flight to your hometown city. |
