For
over 40 years Illinois International Travel has been arranging tours
for Jehovah’s Witnesses to some of the most remarkable destinations
around the globe. This tour starts in Capetown, South Africa for the
first three nights that’s known as one of the most desirable cities
in the world. Besides a tour of South Africa, you’ll enjoy an African
safari in Kruger National Park with breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
You will then fly to the country of Zambia to view the famous Victoria
Falls including a tour to Chobe National Park where there are over 40,000
elephants roaming around. You will see hundreds of animals as there
are over two million untamed as on their day of creation. On some evenings
you will hear different tribes dancing to the beat of African drums.
Seeing so many animals on this safari is hard to describe.
Enjoy the luxury of safari lodges as you travel in our 4-wheel drive
vehicles plus the warm weather will be ideal for swimming at the lodges.
Game drives start early in the morning when the animals are on the move.
You then return to your lodge for breakfast and to relax around the
swimming pool. Later in the afternoon there are game drives when the
animals are again on the move. You may see a cheetah stalking or a baby
elephant trying to keep up with the herd. The difference in our safari
from other tours is that it is less tiring for everyone by flying from
one game park to another instead of driving on dusty dirt roads for
hours. For this reason, we have planned a deluxe itinerary at a special
group rate. (Since the safari lodges have limited space and fill up
fast, reservations will be made on a first-come basis only.)
THE ITINERARY WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
Mar. 31 Everyone will
fly to Washington, D.C. for our overnight flight to Johannesburg where
you will change planes for the flight to Capetown, South Africa. Traveling
to this part of the world is a wonderful experience.
Apr. 1 Upon arrival in
the evening, you will be met and transferred to your hotel near the
beautiful waterfront where all the shops are located.
Apr. 2 After breakfast,
you will travel through the wine country as South Africa is known for
its wines with over 200 estates. The highlight will be a wine tasting
and cellar tour at an estate in the historic village of Stellenbosch
before returning to the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be on your own
as there are many restaurants and markets on the waterfront.
Apr. 3 After breakfast,
there will be a full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula, called “Natures
Greatest Show” where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans come together.
You’ll stop at the “Cape of Good Hope” to take the
funicular up to the lighthouse to view the most southern part of Africa.
A seafood lunch is included and then you will see over 3,000 penguins
at Boulder Beach for an outstanding photograph. Tonight, dinner is included
at the famous “African Gold Restaurant” known for its exciting
live African entertainment.
Apr. 4 Fly to the famous
Kruger National Park and stay three nights at an African safari lodge.
Later, meet for high tea and then the call of the wild awaits as you
board an open air safari vehicle for your first safari game drive. Each
vehicle has a game ranger whose trained eyes see animals before you
do. They are always in search of the “Big Five”—lion,
leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo plus hundreds of graceful impalas,
zebras and giraffes. Each day breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.
At night, the chefs prepare a variety of fish, meats, pastas and vegetables.
Apr. 5 Begin with an early
wake-up call before dawn with coffee and muffins and then it’s time
to depart into the sunrise for a morning game drive. Have your cameras
ready for an unforgettable day of adventure and excitement! Return to
the lodge for a gourmet breakfast and to relax around the pool. Lunch
is included and then later in the day it’s time for high tea and another
safari as this is when the animals are again roaming around. As you
return to the lodge, the entertainment begins with a BBQ dinner around
the Boma (a fire-lit pit) under a starlit sky.
Apr. 6 Another early morning
and late afternoon game drive is something you will not forget as each
day is different. You’re bound to see lions, elephants, hippos, crocodiles,
antelope, giraffes, baboons, hyenas, zebras, buffalo, warthogs and many
more animals.
Apr. 7 One more game drive
before breakfast. This afternoon, fly to Johannesburg and stay overnight
at a hotel near the airport. Dinner will be on your own as there are
many restaurants.
Apr. 8 After breakfast,
fly to Victoria Falls and then to your hotel in Zimbabwe. Later, enjoy
a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River to see hippo, crocodile, elephant,
rhino and many bird species as you enjoy snacks, champagne and soft
drinks. Dinner is included at the hotel.
Apr. 9 Today you’ll see
the spectacular, breathtaking “Victoria Falls”, one of the 7 natural
Wonders of the World. Later, there will be an optional elephant ride
through the forest. Tonight, you’ll be entertained by African dancers
at a Boma dinner, a unique cultural experience.
Apr. 10 Another day to
remember as you travel to Chobe National Park in Botswana for a morning
cruise on the Chobe River to view hippos and birds. Lunch is included
followed by a safari in the park that’s filled with herds of elephants,
giraffes and other animals. Return to your lodge for a “Farewell Dinner”
with all the friends traveling with you, as this is the ultimate safari
experience!
