For
the first time we have arranged an exciting tour to the country of Peru
in South America. One of the highlights will be a two day visit to Machu
Picchu to explore the ancient sights of this Incan village. Each day
breakfast is included plus one lunch and four dinners. This is now one
of the most popular countries to visit in all of South America because
of its amazing archaeological sights. Peru sits below the Equator, so
you will enjoy the warm weather every day.

Dec. 6 Today, your sightseeing
tour will take in all the architectural splendors of colonial Lima,
now a World Heritage Site. You’ll explore the famed Larco Herrera
Museum to see its collections including pre-Colombian artifacts and
gold pieces plus a collection of ancient pottery. Tonight, dinner is
included.
Dec. 7 The Inca nation
extends from Ecuador and Colombia into Chile, encompassing all of present-day
Peru and Bolivia. Cuzco nestled high in the Andes Mountains, was the
center of the Inca Empire and is, today, the oldest inhabited city in
the Americas. Today you will fly to Cuzco, some 11,000 feet above sea
level and stay for two nights including dinner each evening.
Dec. 8 Visit the hilltop
fortress and ruins of Sacsayhuaman, with spectacular views of Cuzco
and the Valley. Continue to Barrio San Blas with its narrow, winding
streets. This area is home to many artisans with studios, galleries
and cafes. Continue your exploration of Cuzco, which means “Center
of the World.” See the Temple of the Sun, with its amazing Inca
walls and the beautiful colonial buildings. Tonight you will enjoy a
dinner of Peruvian cuisine with music and dances of the Andes. Be sure
to bring your camera to photograph the beautiful costumes.
