This tour includes visiting the new World Headquarters at Warwick plus Patterson and Wallkill and then you’ll spend two nights at Niagara Falls in Canada. In addition, you’ll also visit the Canadian Branch Office and stay two nights in Toronto, Canada, before flying back to your hometown, instead of spending another full day travelling back to New York.
July 14 Illinois International Travel will arrange a flight from your city to New York’s Newark Airport and then transfer you to the Courtyard by Marriott Newark Elizabeth Hotel where you will meet Friends from many other parts of the country. Balance of the day will be free to do as you please.
July 15 Buffet breakfast is included at the hotel, followed by a sightseeing tour of New York City. Your tour escort will point out such sights as the Empire State Building, Times Square, 5th Avenue, Central Park, Wall Street, Ground Zero and more. In the afternoon there will be an interesting Bible tour given by Brothers from Oasis Tours in New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art located by Central Park. Before the tour begins, you can have an optional light lunch followed by an encouraging tour highlighting many biblical points. At 5:00 p.m., you will return to the hotel. Located across the street from your hotel is New Jersey’s largest indoor outlet mall that has department stores, restaurants and a large food court.
July 16 Entire day and evening free to enjoy New York City. You can go to the top of the Empire State Building, visit Time’s Square or Macy’s Department Store. You can also take in a live performance at a Broadway theater.
July 17 This morning you’ll visit the new World Headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Warwick where the work for over 100 Branch Offices is coordinated. This is where the Governing Body is located that handles all of the materials related to the preaching activity worldwide.There will be three separate (self-guided) tours. One called, “The Bible and the Divine Name” where you will see Bibles from the 15th century plus “A People for Jehovah’s Name” and one called, “World Headquarters—Faith In Action. (See Tour #1 for more details on visiting Bethel.) After the tours, you can enjoy your included box lunch and then you will travel into Manhattan where the balance of the day and evening will be at leisure. You may want to take an optional boat tour to see the Statue of Liberty including all of the Society’s former buildings from the boat as you pass under the Brooklyn Bridge. At 5:00 p.m., you will return to the hotel or you can remain in Manhattan to do as you please.
July 18 This morning you will check-out of the hotel and travel to Patterson to tour the Educational Center and then to Wallkill for a tour of the printing factory including a box lunch. Following these two tours, you will depart to Binghamton, NY and stay overnight at the new Doubletree Hotel.
July 19 After breakfast depart to Niagara Falls. Stay two nights at the Courtyard Marriott including breakfast that’s located only one block from the Falls. Tonight, you can enjoy an optional group dinner at the top of the Skylon Tower.
July 20 Free day to visit the many attractions, as this is one of the top destinations in the world. There are several viewing areas or you can take an optional one-hour cruise for an exciting view of the Falls. You’ll feel the mist and the sight of water falling from above. This is a magnificent experience and a photographer’s dream. Raincoats are provided. (See Awake, 7/8/01, p. 25) Tonight, you may want to attend a meeting at the local Kingdom Hall.
July 21 Drive to the Canadian Branch Office to tour the facilities and see the new press that is now printing 5 million magazines a week in 30 languages. A box lunch is included in the picnic area. Later, check into the downtown Toronto hotel for two nights where a continental breakfast is included each morning. Balance of the day at leisure where you can walk to the largest indoor shopping mall in Canada.
July 22 Free day to enjoy the optional Hop-on Hop-off Trolley Tour of Toronto. See the museums, CN Tower, Casa Loma Castle, Toronto Zoo, St. Lawrence Marketplace and many other attractions. Your tour escort will have several suggestions on what to do and see in this exciting Canadian city.
July 23 Depart to the Toronto Airport for the return flight to your hometown with many memories. Reserve NOW as this tour sells out VERY QUICKLY each year. Please remember that everyone must have a passport for this tour.
If your city is not listed, please let us know which city you would like to fly from and we will then inform you of the total cost from your hometown.
