TOUR #8 – Exploring Thailand

January 26 – February 4, 2021




Imagine arriving in an exotic country full of colorful unique flower markets and the delicious aromas of the street-side restaurants. Bangkok was built on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. During your free time, you may want to take a ride on a three-wheeled tuk-tuk (taxi). While in Bangkok, our group will go to the local Branch Office of Jehovah’s Witnesses for a Tour. In Kanchanaburi, you will see Sampan boats full of products and food the locals are selling and then walk on the famous bridge over the River Kwai. Erawan National Park will be your next stop, one of the most famous Thai national parks. Arrive in Pattaya, along the Gulf of Thailand. Our group will take a speedboat to Coral Island and the next day visit an elephant jungle sanctuary. You will bring back many pictures and memories to share with your family and Friends.

Tue., Jan. 26 Everyone will depart from their hometown on connecting flights to Bangkok, Thailand. Enjoy dinner, in-flight entertainment and some rest.

Wed., Jan. 27 During the night, you will cross the International Date Line. Arrive BANGKOK and transfer to your hotel around midnight local time, check into your room to unpack, sleep and acclimate to your new time zone.

Thu., Jan. 28 Following breakfast, our Tour Escort will meet you in the lobby to give you timing for your “City of Angels” afternoon BANGKOK Tour. This is a fascinating city to drive through seeing Chinatown packed with hundreds of market stalls, street-side restaurants, and gold shops. Next, you will visit “Little India” with its bright hanging walls of glistening fabrics and the fragrant wholesale Flower Market. Visit serene Wat Po, home of Thailand’s first center for public education and birthplace of Thai massage. Then you will drive along Royal Avenue, seeing most of the government offices along with the King’s Palace. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure before our group meets for an orientation meeting followed by a Welcome Dinner.

Fri., Jan. 29 Today’s highlight will be touring the Thailand Branch Office. The remainder of your day will be free. You may want to take the Grand Palace Tour to see Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and the Grand Palace which consists of over a 100 brightly colored buildings with golden spires and glittering mosaics. This evening enjoy a dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya River.

Sat., Jan. 30 Travel southwest to a Coconut Sugar Farm and then to the vibrant Damnoen Saduak Floating Market; you will observe how the ancient trading of wares is conducted between hundreds of local farmers and villagers while aboard small Sampan boats. From the floating market, continue to the quiet provincial capital of KANCHANABURI, with its stunning natural beauty and rivers. Take a stroll on the bridge over the River Kwai, one of the most famous rivers in the world. Tonight, you will enjoy dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Sun., Jan. 31 Today you are on your own to explore Kanchanaburi. You may want to take the Hellfire Pass and Death Railway Tour. The name of this Tour comes from Allied POWs forced to workday and night in the jungle to complete the bridge and railroad line using only simple tools. More than 12,000 soldiers and 80,000 Thais perished during the construction.

Mon., Feb. 1 Depart for the ERAWAN NATIONAL PARK where you will see the magnificent Erawan Falls with emerald green ponds. The top tier of the falls is said to resemble an elephant’s head. Enjoy the scenery as you continue to PATTAYA. This resort city is on the East Coast of the Gulf of Thailand, with beautiful beaches and sparkling azure waters. Enjoy the rest of your day exploring Pattaya.

Tue., Feb. 2 After breakfast you will escape on a speedboat to the stunning coral Island of KOH LARN, brimming with an abundance of coral formations, underwater life and white sand beaches. Unwind on the beach or you may try some optional water sports including waterskiing, parasailing, or windsurfing. Our group will enjoy a local lunch, then the afternoon will be at your leisure.

Wed., Feb. 3 This is your last full day in Thailand. Early morning you will visit an elephant jungle sanctuary. Breakfast and lunch included along with the opportunity to interact with the elephants and feed them. Your afternoon is free back in Pattaya for shopping or do as you please before tonight’s Farewell Dinner.

Thu., Feb. 4 You will be transferred to the Bangkok airport for your departure flight home. As you cross back over the International Date Line, look back on your photos of your exotic Thai adventure shared with new friends from around the country.
